DP Rule Strikes Again

Fire land their man — Chicago inks Mexican superstar Blanco under DP rule

So, it looks like soccer in America is starting to spread its wings. I am excited to see so many new faces coming to the US to play soccer.

Now, there are the occasional arguments to say that “they’re coming only for the money”, or “they’re coming to retire, and not to play”, but I think that everyone understands that there are players out there who want to live the American lifestyle, and will sacrifice some things to come here. I mean, come on, Beckham got money, but he could still make headlines regardless of where he is playing. He has a lot of good years of playing ahead. And so do Reyna and Blanco. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the DP rule. It is now permanently here to stay.

One more question: How did the Bulls pull off 6 World Championships in the NBA? With a salary cap exemption for MJ. ;-)

  1. Beckham doesn’t have a lot of years either ahead or behind him….the man is a Pop Icon, not a soccer player.
    just like Michael Ballack.
and the fat old Ronaldo of WC 2006.
but not the skinny one from WC 2002.
