I’ve been in contact with a few great companies lately, all who have really good contacts for contract work, and have great people running them.

Firstoff, my friend Mitch has started http://barkingants.com. He seems to be picking up steam with his work, which is mostly small- and medium-sized websites. His work and development knowledge are top notch.

Then, there is http://bluetractor.com which is the online home of my friend John Thomas. John specializes in flash presentations, and even flash games, but he also does a lot of traditional web design. Look for Blue Tractor to break out this year with a lot of great work.

Lastly, there is http://gelfusion.org, whom I just met this week. Greg is the principle owner and he has a vast amount of experience in the online world. I’m finding he is the silent type doing delivery of work for some pretty well-known clients, and doing awesome at it in the meantime.

Anyhow, things are still going okay for me. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I moved to the Nashville area. Time really flies.

Well, it’s been a long while since I posted anything on this blog. My wife is bugging me that I don’t ever write on my blog.

Here goes:

Julie is pregnant with our third child! I’m really excited. People keep askng me if I want a certain gender, but in honesty, I just want a healthy baby.

TurnItUp Media launched a while back. We’re working hard to make it better, and have made a lot of progress. We’re seeking another round of funding to really blow the top off the market and make it grow. It should be amazing.

Our new house is doing well. I built a quilt desk for Julie’s sewing room. You will probably be able to see pictures soon once we get everything organized.

Fiona is doing really well in piano. She works really hard and is improving every week.

Aida has been in dance and really enjoying it. She will have a recital the same day as Fiona’s baptism.

Well, that is all for now. Back to watching Conference.

I’ll try and submit more content on this blog. Maybe change the blog engine from WordPress to Expression Engine. We’ll see. ;)

Happy Easter!

Canon PowerShot SD750 Digital Elph

This camera is based off the same styling that our A620 was, but it’s slightly newer. I also bought a 2GB SD card (only $18!). I then came home, charged the battery, and took a couple of test photos, then snapped this one of myself:

I hope to snap some more photos of our new house, my coworkers, and overall, my life here in the Nashville, TN area. Hopefully there is someone out there who will want to see what I’m going to share. :-)

So, I’ve changed a couple of things on the blog, and added a couple of things.

First, I’ve changed the title. I was growing old with the previous title as it was my nickname (my Mom’s nickname for me) growing up.

Second, I’ve added my resumé to the site in the hopes I can start sending it out to folks. I’ve been nervous about things here at my current employer. Don’t get me wrong, I want to keep my job here. But current events have forced me to be prepared for anything, including the possibility that I could lose my job.

Also, I hope to be posting more here. I need to start having an outlet for some of my thoughts, especially on tech stuff and stuff about my family.

So, Mandy really wants me to write something here. She says that she doesn’t have anything to reply to when I comment on her blog. So here goes.

I’ve started taking multivitamins every night before I go to bed, and I have to say, it’s made a significant impact on my energy levels throughout the day. Not only do I feel more energized, but I feel, healthy, alert, of clear mind, and that my body is working in unison. Since I got to Atlanta I haven’t had that feeling yet. So, I really credit this “One a day” tablet I’m taking.

One other thing is I think the lack of daylight savings has really got me in a funk. I now wake up in the dark at 7 am! It should bright and shining at 7 am! Anyhow, I want to do away with daylight savings totally. But that is my crazy opinion.

So what’s your opinion on multivitamins and daylights savings? Mandy? Anyone?

P.S.: Don’t forget to check out the Mormon Potluck Podcast: Episode 13 — The Bloggernacle!

Days like today are a meteorlogists nightmare. Last night the words were “light dusting” and today came 4 inches. I can’t believe they didn’t see it coming. I was in the Portland Oregon Temple from 5:00 a.m. until 7:30, and in that time at least 2-3 inches had fallen. It was cool. Then it wasn’t, because I had to get to work. I only spent about 3 hours there and then had to find a way to get home. My friend Mitch had dropped me off and I had no car. Making matters worse, there was no bus schedule, so I would have had to stand outside in totally unprepared clothing for a while to just happen to catch a bus. No chance. So, I called my dad, who snagged my mom and came downtown with no problems, whatsoever. They rock.
